FREQUENTLY
ASKED QUESTIONS
CAN I TAKE MY BABY ON THE TOUR?
We take very small children on our tour. Our guides are very experienced with little ones. Babies can come along for free, in a body pack with a parent. Children under 2 yrs. old are free of charge.
-
Small children in harnesses can ride connected to a parent or guide but many prefer to ride the cables solo.
-
If children are unaccompanied by a parent or guardian, the appropriate consent is required.
CAN I WATCH?
For observers only, there is little to see except the hanging bridge at the beginning of the tour and the final rappel. The tour trajectory heads off into the forest and there are not accompanying trails.
DO I NEED BUG SPRAY OR SUN PROTECTION?
Insects, of the biting kind, are not usually an inconvenience on the tour but if you prefer to use repellent you should bring your own. Depending upon the season, the cable and platforms are largely shaded. However, judicious use of sunscreen lotion is always advisable in this climate.
WHAT SHOULD I WEAR OR BRING?
Wear comfortable clothing, like T-shirt and shorts. Proper footwear, preferably closed toed, is a must. No flip flops, please. Bring a camera, if possible.
HOW LONG WILL THE TOUR TAKE?
Tour time varies with the size of the group and physical condition of the participants. Our minimum group size is two people, which takes about 1 ½ to 2 hrs. A full group of ten people can last as long as 3 1/2 hrs.
WHAT ANIMALS WILL I SEE?
We can’t guarantee what wildlife you will see but there is a wide variety of mammals, birds, reptiles and insects, all native to the dry tropical forest of this region. Check out our gallery for more info!
DO I NEED FOOD OR WATER?
We send a natural snack of fresh local fruit, organic cookies, water and juice with each tour group.
HOW DO I GET THERE?
Our office is located in Playa Samara, 1 km. east of the main intersection, on the road toward Carrillo. The tour itself is located in the steep hills to the north of the beach, hence the gorgeous sea views from several of our platforms.
